Spool Knitting
Using a wooden spool, 4 finishing nail, yarn/thread, and a crochet hook or yarn needle, you can create a small knitted circular tube.
To make the knitting spool, hammer 4 small finishing nails equally spaced into the top of a wooden thread spool. Leave the nails sticking above the spool about 3/8"-1/2".

Thread the yarn/thread down through the center hole on the spool. If necessary, use a crochet hook or yarn needle.
how to knit tubular cord Hold the yarn/thread out of the bottom of the spool in place. Tightly wrap the top yarn/thread counterclockwise around each nail.
how to knit tubular cord Lay the yarn/thread around the first nail and over the first wrap. With a small crochet hook or yarn needle, pull the wrapped loop over the laid yarn/thread and drop the loop through the spool hole. One stitch has just been made. Continue making stitches around the spool. Pull finished stitches tight through the spool center hole. Work until desired length.
To bind off, move last knitted stitch to the nail to its left. With a small crochet hook or yarn needle, pull the bottom stitch up over the top stitch. Repeat around until one stitch remains. Fasten off.

I-Cord

Using a double pointed knitting needle, cast on three to five stitches. *Knit across the row. Do not turn, move the stitches back to the other end of the needle. Pull yarn tight.* Repeat *.* until desired length. Bind off.
